Capitals of the world quiz

A continent is considered to be a large extension of land that is differentiated from other smaller or submerged land by geographic concepts, such as oceans; cultural concepts, such as ethnography; and the history of each continent.

The division of the Earth into continents is conventional, and between four[1] and seven[2] continents are usually recognized; for example, a division into six continents is usually: Asia, Antarctica, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas.

The word continent comes from the Latin continent, meaning «to hold together» and is derived from the continent terra, «the continuous lands.» Literally, the term refers to a large expanse of dry land on the surface of the globe. Thus, there are some models of continents that consider Europe and Asia as two continents, while Eurasia is considered a geopolitical region, and others the other way around.

The first distinction similar to the concept of continent was made by the ancient Greek navigators, who gave the name Europe and Asia to the lands located on both sides of the expanse of water formed by the Aegean Sea, the Dardanelles Strait, the Sea of Marmara, the Bosporus and the Black Sea.[19] These names were first used to designate the lands near the coast, and only later extended their use to the hinterland. [20]:69 Ancient Greek thinkers next debated whether Africa (then called Libya) should be considered as a part of Asia or as an independent third part of the world, and finally the division of the Earth into three parts prevailed.[20]:67 From the Greek perspective, the Aegean Sea was the center of the world, with Asia to the east, Europe to the west and north, and Africa to the south.[21]:21-22

Capitals of the world in english

David Checa, you are about to get the world record, come on, if you can, I support you, you are only a few points away. You are an excellent player, very admirable your progress in this game, when you get the first place, I will be the first to congratulate you.

@CAMJUT : Thank you very much for the support, my friend; for a little more than a week now I’ve been training more to surpass myself than to break a record that belongs to another player. As the score increases, it’s much more complicated to beat it: at these levels it’s no longer a matter of knowledge, but of knowing how to control impulses and improve concentration :»

I have noticed that some of the top scoring players have a certainty close to 100%. Unlike us who, trying to react in less time, make mistakes and barely reach 70%.

Another strategy with which I have started to improve my score is to learn the flags as well. This way you gain a little bit of time by not having to read the 4 options but to identify the flag corresponding to the proposed capital.

Capitals of the world pdf

In a matter of months, the postcards of the great capitals of the world, where millions of city dwellers coexist daily with tourists and all kinds of transportation, have changed for images where the most famous monuments of London, New York or Paris appear without any trace of people.

The Big Apple has become the epicenter of the pandemic in America and the hustle and bustle of the streets where words in languages from all over the world have given way to silence. The mythical Times Square and advertisements look deserted, while barely a few people cross the starry roof of the chaotic Grand Central Terminal. The Brooklyn Bridge, a favorite photo spot for tourists, appears half-empty, with only a few residents out shopping for groceries or health professionals.

The Eternal City is one of the main destinations for tourists in Europe; however, the capital of Italy, one of the countries where the coronavirus has proven to be the most lethal, appears deserted as never before. The wave of travelers touring St. Peter’s Square has disappeared and the most iconic sites of Ancient Rome, such as the Forum and the Roman Colosseum, take a break from the daily hustle and bustle.
